Melina Young

Melina Young is a queer actor, writer, and musician from LA. Currently working on her debut album, she brings her lifelong study of classical piano and voice to her work in theatre. Favorite theatre credits include They're All Gonna Laugh At You monthly at El Cid on Sunset, Blanche Dubois in Jack Ferver’s Desire, Natasha in Whitney White’s Three Sisters, Melchior Gabor in Spring Awakening, Sorrel Bliss in Robert Price's Hay Fever (LAMDA) and Macbeth in Macbeth (LAMDA), and Beth in the first workshop production of Gage Tarlton's Just Like Now at Williamstown. As a playwright, Melina has been produced at Bard and recognized in The Blank Theatre's National Young Playwrights competition; her analytical writing was selected for presentation at the 2019 American Comparative Literature Conference held at Georgetown. Melina Young trained at Bard College, the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and the Williamstown Theatre Festival. Raised in a bilingual household (English and Spanish), Melina teaches English language and dialect to students all over the world. Most recently, she worked as dialogue coach to Manuel Garcia Rulfo for Netflix's "Lincoln Lawyer."
